diverse

For such a quaint little village, Rhinebeck has a wide variety of styles of cuisine, from New American Bistro to Thai, from French to barbecue, from health food to cozy wine bars and taverns. The Rhinebeck Farmers Market is consistently voted best in the Valley, and the annual Taste of Rhinebeck fundraiser for the Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation draws nearly 500 tasters; if you taste around town at all, you’ll see why.

The village has 30 edible spots: eateries, bakeries, wine shops and candy and chocolate stores, and your tour guide will help you touch down at the best of them, getting to to know some of the chefs, owners and staff, who have stories to tell and will entice you with their tastiest treats.

Tour guests dig into local house-smoked meats at Smoky Rock.

"I had such a great time on this food tour ... We were welcomed everywhere we went and treated to such wonderful food and drink.  Jennifer is a wonderful guide.  She provided lots of history of Rhinebeck as we strolled along ...  We left with a full belly and a happy heart.  Highly recommended."
--Dana B.
“Rhinebeck is a charming town and our tour guide enhanced the experience by filling us in on some of the local history. The shop owners were glad to see us and bent over backwards to welcome us … We walked, ate and drank our way through Rhinebeck. It is a wonderful way to spend a day .”
 --Janet Irizarry, Gardiner, NY

savoring 'beck ...

Rhinebeck Crawls for the 2016 season are still in development but will always begin with several tastings at the 21-year-old Rhinebeck Farmers Market, voted Best in the Hudson Valley for five years running. Last year's lineup included:
· LynnHaven: artisanal goat milk cheeses from their award-winning herd of naturally raised Nubian and La Mancha dairy goats
Raven & Boar for sausage or other fine charcuterie from naturally raised heritage swine
· Harvest Spirits Farm Distillery for a lively assortment of their handcrafted fruit-based spirits
Tousey Honey & Wine, for a sip of luscious healthful black currant juice sweetened with local honey or Tousey wines (fresh currant tastings in July)
Julia and Isabella Fine Fare for samplings of local cheeses from award-winning Sprout Creek.

THE CRAWL CONTINUES with a meander through the village, with a couple of rest stops here and there, interspersed with tales of history and local lore. Although venues are subject to change, your tour may include:
... Pure Mountain Olive Oils & Vinegars for infused olive oils carefully paired with specialty balsamic white and traditional vinegars
... retro candy from the classic 69-year-old five and dime A.L. Stickles
... natural, local meats house-seasoned and smoked at Smoky Rock BBQ,  paired with a sample of a local brew
... a beautiful and healthy salad at Sunflower Cafe
...  an 86-year-old tradition of fine hand-dipped chocolates at Krause's  Chocolates...
